| | Born in California on Nov. 25, 1863. Mme. Durand graduated from the Government Fine Arts School in Paris. She taught art at the University of Washington prior to moving to California. She was a resident of San Francisco from 1916 and director of the CSFA in 1918. She also lived in Santa Rosa in 1929-30 and San Diego in the 1920s and 1930s. She died at Modesto (CA) State Hospital on March 15, 1949. Member: SFAA; SF Women Artists. Exh: SFAA, 1916-18 (paintings on cement), 1925 (oils); Calif.
