The following biography is from F. Lennox Campello:
Willem De Looper was born in Holland, although he is now a US citizen, and lives in Washington D.C. where he has been associated (somewhat late) with a group of painters known as the Washington Color School. De Looper's early lyrical work was created by pouring thin washes of color over unprimed canvas. Here blue in all its shadings often dominates. His later works frequently gravitates to deeper colors, metallic paint (showing 500 of 876 characters). |
