| | Painter. Born in San Francisco, CA in 1857. Derrick studied in Paris with Bonnat, Boulanger, and Lefebvre during 1879-85. Returning to California, he painted on the Monterey Peninsula in 1890. Settling in NYC, he remained there until his demise on Jan. 10, 1941. Member: NA; NAC; Lotos Club; Chicago Art Guild. Exh: Paris Salon, 1885; Connecticut Academy of FA, 1916 (prize); Findlay Gallery (NYC), 1940. In: NMAA.
