| | Born in Los Angeles, CA on Aug. 19, 1863, the son of Rabbi Abram W. Edelman. The younger Edelman studied art in San Francisco at the School of Design in 1879. After establishing an office in Los Angeles in the late 1880s, he worked as an architect for more than 50 years. Some of his more important designs were the Blanchard Bldg, Horace Mann High School, Majestic Theater, and Temple B'Nai Brith on Wilshire Blvd. A lifelong resident of his native city, Edelman died on Feb. 8, 1941.
