Albert Edel was born in France in 1890. He showed in the Provincetown area from circa 1920 to circa 1940. His work was also displayed in the Edel Gallery in Provincetown. He worked in oils, watercolors, drawings, and etchings. His style is representational. He may have been married to Stella Edel, a famous Provincetown block printer. He died in 1961.
A note from John Whiting, who grew up in Provincetown, and is subject of a painting by Albert Edel as a thirteen-year old:
Albert Edel was indeed married to Stella; they were next-door neighbors.
