Alice Righter Edmiston ( b. 1874, Monroe, Wisconsin - d. 1964, Lincoln, Nebraska)
Alice's family moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1878. She was a long-time resident of Lincoln where she was involved in many cultural and community organizations. She was a supporter of many modern art
movements that developed in the early 20th century. Her advocacy for the arts led her to experiment with post-impressionism, cubism, and
abstraction at a time when Nebraska art was primarily acade (showing 500 of 822 characters). |
