This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following was submitted by Jansen Estrup, May 2004

Carole is a self-taught painter whose wide interests have led her to study,
first hand, the Choco and Cuna Indians of Central America and the Ainu of
Japan, as well as Oriental religions and African wildlife. Her work is generally
divided into three themes - the American West, world socio-political topics
and visionary expressions which include the stunning metaphysical series
"Evolution of the Soul". Spectacular use of color, intimate knowledge of
anatomy (both human and animal) and daring motifs mark her work as
unusual, memorable and masterful. Critics have applauded her work for
decades on both U.S. coasts, and in Panama and Japan. She has lived for
many years in a secluded Sierra Mountain home and studio.
