This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Norwichtown, Connecticut, Charlotte Eastman became an illustrator, educator, teacher and designer. From 1910 to 1943, she was Director of the Norwich Art School.

Charlotte Eastman studied at the Norwich Art School, Art Students League, Boston Museum School of Fine Art, Art Institute of Chicago, Pennsylvania Academy and in Paris at Academy Colarossi. She exhibited in Paris at the Salon d'Automne in 1928.

Returning to Connecticut, she became associated with the Norwich Free Academy. Due to this association she is often identified as a "Norwich Artist".

Eastman's works are in the permanent collection of the Slater Museum, Connecticut.

Charlotte Fuller Eastman was one of the Eastmans in the Eastman Kodak business. She and all of her sisters left their fortune - at the time approx. $7 million - to the state of Connecticut after they passed away. Kind of a bummer because she was my dad's great aunt.
