(Axel) David Eriksson (1869/70 – 1946)
The painter David Eriksson was born in Motala, in Ostergotland,
immigrating with his parents to Duluth in 1873. He left in 1887
to study at the Art Students League in New York, working under the
American landscape and portrait painter William Merritt Chase.
In 1900 he moved to England to study with James McNeill Whistler,
afterwards establishing studios in Paris, New York, and Provincetown
during the 1920’ (showing 500 of 2648 characters). |
