Dick Evans grew up in a small town in Texas and was not introduced to fine art until he went to university. Evans became a nationally known ceramicist before beginning his career as a painter in 1991.
His paintings are abstract with large gestural stokes and rich color loosely resembling the landscape. Dick Evans works intuitively making no sketches or plans until he opens his palette and begins to paint.
