Ed Eller the Artist
I am primarily an abstract expressionist painter. The principle motifs of my work are the human figure, flowering landscapes, and abstract compositions. My work emphasizes line, motion and color, evoking a velvety soft impression.
My landscape flower paintings are often monochromatic, understated, close-up, oriental-like images. My abstract paintings are composed with strong refined lines, contrasting hues, and rhythmical structures, suggesting the illusion of space, but emphasizing smooth and silent two-dimensional effects. Sensuous drawing delineates the human anatomy in my figure paintings, with expressive, but subtle
use of light and shade.
My preferred medium is oil. However, I work well in watercolor, acrylics, ink, lithography, and pencil. I have done figure sculptures in bronze, clay, and wire. My figure sculpture express direct and sensitive feelings and are said to be Rodin like in style.
