| | Born in England on Oct. 3, 1855. Florence Brook came to the U.S. in 1872 and in the 1880s lived in Denver and Teluride, CO. At some point in time she married Samuel Elliott. About 1915 she moved to Los Angeles and established a studio in her home. During 1921-22 was active in San Francisco and painted scenes of the mining activity in the Mother Lode country around La Porte. She died in La Honda, CA on July 18, 1944. Her work includes landscapes of the Rockies and California. In: Society of Calif.
