Painter Gene Elmore is well known in the Monterey, Carmel area of California for his land-seascapes, architectural, floral and figurative paintings that are highly colorful and both realistic and abstract with expressive linearity. He uses large areas of colors to create flat spaces. His method has been to sketch on the spot and then use them later to complete paintings in his studio.
