| Gladys Dee Ervin was born in Dayton, Kentucky on February 4, 1887. Ervin studied at the Cincinnati Academy of Art and Columbia University. Most of her early life was spent in Cincinnati as a teacher at Hughes High School. A spinster, she died in Ojai, CA on March 4, 1980.
