| Born in Omaha, NE on April 28, 1890. English moved to Los Angeles in 1907. At the outbreak of WWI he was an architecture student at Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and remained in Paris until driven out at the onset of WWII. He was elected Chevalier de la Legion d'Honeur in 1940 before returning to Los Angeles. He died there on March 4, 1953.
