| | Born in Michigan on Dec. 18, 1870. Everts was orphaned at an early age and made his way in the world from age 14. After moving from San Diego to Los Angeles in 1906, he studied at the local Art Students League. He did several paintings of Mission San Juan Capistrano, landscapes of the Santa Monica Canyon, and seascapes before his death in Los Angeles on Jan. 22, 1919.
