 A painter of seascapes and ships, he exhibited nine times at the Royal Academy in London, as well as in Berlin, Düsseldorf, and Munich, Germany. An amateur artist, he worked at the family firm of solicitors in Nottingham, painting land-and seascapes in watercolor and oil in his spare time.
