| | Born in Volney, NY on May 9, 1862. While in New York Emens was active with the Society of American Artists. About 1920 he moved to California and settled in Carmel. He soon was active in the local art scene. He was a founder and first secretery of the Carmel Art Ass’n in 1927. He produced scenic backdrops for the Forest Theater and Theater of the Golden Bough before his death in Carmel on Sept. 15, 1930.
