Biography from American Design Ltd.:
| JACK R. EGGMAN
Jack R. Eggman is a third generation Arizonian. His interest in art started at the age of five, and as a teen, he also became concerned with music and poetry. After being educated in the Tucson schools and serving in the army, he attended Pima Community College, where he majored in art. Eggman has received numerous awards for his works and a partial list of his many corporate collections is provided below.
Although Eggman concentrates on monotype prints, which are done in ink, he also paints with oils and is a sculptor. His creations reflect his interest in primitive art, cubism, and emphasize tones, color values, and color combinations. In addition, Eggman incorporates animals, birds, flowers, and figures in his works.
A monotype print is a unique work of art, and because only one impression is pulled from a plate, each print is an original. Eggman paints his images on the plate by using his fingers, a brush, and a cloth. When the image is completed, print paper is laid on the glass and then hand-rolled. It is at this time that the element of change intrudes; the final design on paper is determined not only by the artist’s concept, but by the amount of ink used, and the pressure applied by the rolling.
