A member of the Emmet family of female painters, Jane Emmet was a portrait and figure painter who married artist Wilfred De Glehn in 1904. The couple traveled with John Singer Sargent, who, between 1910 and 1912, painted them together, especially in Italy and Greece.
Between World War I and World War II, the couple spent much time in New England and in New York where she had a studio.
Jane Emmet De Glehn studied at the Art Students League in New York, and exhibited at the Pennsylva (showing 500 of 943 characters). |
