Equally adept and still lifes and landscapes, John Encinias is a longtime member of the National Academy of Western Art* and has participated regularly in the Prix de West* exhibitions at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame.
He was born in New Mexico and is largely self taught. For his landscapes, he is a "plein aire"* painter, completing his canvases outside.
