This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Mark Eberhard earned a degree in graphic design from the University of Cincinnati and a fine arts degree in design from Yale University. It wasn't until he had established a successful design business with his wife, Alice, that he turned his attention to his love of painting.
Eberhard spent years painting before he began to exhibit. Once he did start to show his work in 1996 he found immediate success. His distinctive paintings of birds have earned him numerous national and regional awards. For five years his work has been in the Birds in Art Show at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin and he is one of approximately 300 members of the Society of Animal Artists.
Eberhard lives in Ohio near his childhood home and paints the birds that live in his area. His paintings vary from humorous to ones that convey the dignity and individual personality in the animals. "I think I could spend the rest of my life in my own back yard," he says "and not run out of things to paint."
