This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Mike Esposito is an American comic book artist.  For years, one of the comic book industry's top artists on his own, as an inker Esposito was known for his decades-long partnership with his childhood friend Ross Andru.

Esposito graduated from the High School of Music and Art, where one of his classmates was Andru.  Originally Esposito had dreams of becoming an animator at Disney.  The dreams ended when his father did not want him to leave New York City for the West Coast. Publishing was big in New York, and comics were a natural fit.

His most frequent collaborator was Ross Andru, as the two worked together on various projects over a span of four decades.  Working with Andru, Esposito was the co-founder of his own comic book company, MR Publications in 1951 and dipped his hand into self-publishing two times after that with the companies MikeRoss in 1953 and Klevart Enterprizes in 1970.  Among the titles published were Get Lost, Mr. Mistery and 3D Love.

Another venture into self-publishing, in 1990, failed before funding could be found.

While on staff with DC Comics in the early 1960s, Esposito gradually started freelancing for Marvel, initially taking the pen-name Mickey Demeo to conceal his Marvel Comics work from his ostensive employers.  He also occasionally worked under the moniker Mike Gaudioso for the same reasons.

In 2007 Mike Esposito and Ross Andru were the subjects of a biography titled Andru and Esposito: Partners For Life, published by Hermes Press.
