| Born in Aurora, IL on June 16, 1879. Edgerly spent her youth in Jackson, MI where her father was a railroad official. She began drawing faces while quite young. As a teenager she traveled to Europe where she studied art in England with Frank Brangwyn and in Paris. At the advice of John S. Sargent, she decided to specialize in painting on ivory. By 1894 Edgerly had settled in San Francisco where she studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute. Before the 1906 disaster she often posed for phot (showing 500 of 890 characters). |
