| Moses Eaton was one of the best documented stencilers of New England. He was born 19 June, 1753, son of Jeremiah Eaton and Elizabeth Woodcock, and grandson of William Eaton and Mary Starr of Dedham, Massachusetts. Eaton moved to Hancock, New Hampshire in 1792 from Needham, Massachusetts, near the port of Boston where European fashion first arrived.
