| | Born in Michigan. Eaton studied painting at age 12 but did not paint again for many years. He moved to southern California in 1910 and worked as a naval engineer, lumberjack, and a miner in the Mojave. An old man in 1925, he then resumed painting and continued into the early 1930s while living in a trailer. | Source:
