| | Born in Chicago, IL on Jan. 7, 1874. During the 1890s Edgren studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute while working as a sketch artist and sports reporter for the San Francisco Examiner. He later gained fame in NYC as a cartoonist and sports writer-illustrator. In 1918 he returned to California and lived in Los Angeles until 1927.
