| | Born in Wisconsin on March 19, 1901. Ecke graduated from UCLA. By 1936 he was a resident of San Francisco and in the 1950s taught art at San Francisco State College. He then spent 30 years as vice president of Farmer's Insurance before his demise in Los Angeles on July 13, 1992.
