| Los Angeles artist, Sharon Ellis, paints images of nature which celebrate beauty, order and harmony. Ellis paints as many as sixty thin layers of alkyd on her canvases completing only three or four paintings a year. Common themes for Ellis's work are time and passage. She has completed series on the times of the day, the seasons as well as the four elements.
Sharon Ellis's work was celebrated in a museum exhibition "Evocations: Sharon Ellis, 1991-2001" organized by Marin Betz for the Long Beach Museum of Art.
