| Born in San Antonio, Texas, William Eisner was a painter, businessman and director of the Art Students League in New York City. During his business career from which he retired in 1953, he was one of the first manufacturers in the United States of waxed paper.
He studied art with Sidney Laufman and was a member of the Woodstock, New York Art Association, which he served as Treasurer.
