Born in Cologne, Germany in 1825. Fahrenberg sailed to NYC in 1850 and worked there as both artist and cigar maker until 1858. An itinerant artist, he was in Louisville (1859), New Orleans (1860), San Antonio (1878), and Mexico before coming to San Francisco in 1886. Exh: Mechanics' Inst. (SF), 1886. In: Witte Museum (San Antonio).

Portrait painter, coming via San Antonio, Texas.  Maintained a Wichita studio upstairs at Douglas Avenue in the Baltimore Block and a residence on Williams Street, 3 doors west of Market Street in 1883.
