| Born in Le Havre, France, Albert Fleury became a landscape painter,
muralist and teacher. In the United States, he first made a
reputaton in Chicago towards the end of the 19th century, arriving in
1888 to paint murals denoting the seasons Spring and Fall for the
Chicago Auditorium. He also did numerous city street scenes and
other landscapes of which the Chicago Art Institute had a special
exhibition in 1900. He was a member of the Chicago Society of
Etchers and the Chi (showing 500 of 1909 characters). |
