| A resident of Arroyo Hondo, New Mexico from 1962, Alyce Frank began painting seriously in 1973. Favorite subjects are the landscapes of northern New Mexico, the canyonlands of Utah, and Canyon de Chelly. She starts her paintings on site, but says: "I will not paint what I see." She doesn't want to be restrained by actual colors but wants the freedom to explore landscape forms and colors. Her work has been described as "chromatic exaggeration" and "visually explosive fauvist interpretations" of n (showing 500 of 4189 characters). |
