| Born in South Dakota on May 26, 1887, Anna Lyle Foster graduated from
the California College of Arts and Crafts in 1909 and then taught art
for many years in San Francisco at Crocker High School.
She lived in Los Angeles in 1918-19 and about 1920 married a man named Locke.
By 1941 she had settled in Palo Alto where she remained until her death on Feb. 15, 1974.
