| Born in Piermont, New York, she was an illustrator for "Harper's" magazine who traveled widely and loved to paint what she referred to as "beautiful Arizona desert country."
She studied in New York City with Robert Henri and Irving Wiles and attended the Hartford Art School and the New York School of Fashion and Apparel. For "Harpers" magazine, she specialized in woodcuts and lithographs. She wrote and illustrated children's books including "Southwest Roundup," "Roundup South America," "Young Mexico," and "Steppin' and Family."
She lived in Tucson, Arizona for extended periods of time and taught at the Extension Division of the University of Arizona. She was married to Frank Fite, and they traveled widely. In New York, she exhibited at the Weyhe Gallery. |
