Best known for her nostalgic scenes in pastel of Nantucket, Annie Folger had her studio there, and her work can be found in the Nantucket Historical Association.

She studied at Vassar College in 1872 and the Art Students League from 1878 to 1879. On Nantucket, she studied pastel with John MacDougall.
