A portrait and landscape painter, Bena Mayer, also known as Bena Frank,
was active in New York City as an artist and participant in numerous
art-related organizations as well as prestigious exhibition
venues. Her husband was Ralph Mayer, who wrote A Dictionary of Art Terms and Techniques and The Artist's Handbook of Materials and Techniques.
She was a student at Cooper Union, Hunter College and the Art
