Upon graduation from UCLA, she taught art locally at Belmont High School. In 1932 she married Navy officer Crutchfield Adair. After leading an itinerant life, they settled in Santa Barbara in the late 1940s. There she continued teaching in high schools and the adult education system. Mrs. Adair died there on Oct. 19, 1997.
