Charles Irving Farber was born in Russia on December 25, 1888. He is best known as a painter of California landscapes and mission images. Considered an impressionist, his works often take on a feel of realism.

Along with his family, he settled in Los Angeles, California in 1897. Farber worked for many years in the Art Departments of several of the major Hollywood movie studios. Meanwhile he pursued his own fine art career on the side.

Charles Irving Farber was living in Ojai, California at the time of his death on August 12, 1969.

Charles Irving Farber was born in Russia on December 25, 1888.  Farber immigrated to  Cincinnati, Ohio in 1893. By 1910 he was living in New York City and a few years later he settled in Los Angeles.  He later worked there as a scenic artist for various movie studios while painting fine art in his leisure.  His works are rare.  He died in Ojai, California on August 12, 1969.
