Charles Noel Flagg was born on December 25, 1848, in Brooklyn, New York. He was not only the son of Jared B. Flagg, a New York portrait artist, but also the nephew of painters George W. Flagg and Henry C. Flagg, and the grand nephew of Washington Allston, portraitist and genre painter. Charles Noel Flagg was educated in New Haven (CT) public schools and from (showing 500 of 1834 characters). |
