Born in California, Charles Field received a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.F.A. from the University of Washington. He taught art at the University of New Mexico, the University of Texas in Austin, Western Illinois University, the American Institute for Foreign Study in London, and finally from 1974 to 2002 at the University of Texas, San Antonio.
Beginning in 1974, he painted landscapes which often showed the tensions between developing cities and a pastoral landscape.& (showing 500 of 1052 characters). |
