Dame Elisabeth Frink was born in Thurlow, Suffolk, England in 1930 and died in Blandford Forum, Dorset, England in 1993. She attended Guildford School of Art and the Chelsea School of Art (England) and had her first exhibition in London at the age of 22. That occasion prompted the Tate Gallery to purchase one of her works.
