| A native Californian now living in Sherman Oaks, Dirk Foslien loves to paint the California landscape. Before turning to fine art, he worked as a graphic illustrator in the aerospace industry for Douglas Aircraft.
He attended Bible college for a year, then studied graphics. He took a job in technical drafting for a sign company. In 1994, when the earthquake struck California, he moved to the East Coast and studied at the Muse Gallery and Studio, learning the methods of the Old Masters. He returned to the West Coast and did much painting along Highway 1.
He describes as painting as a combination of Old Masters and Impressionism. |
