| Born in Wheeling, West Virginia on Nov. 9, 1882. Faris studied at the Kansas City Art Institute. He died in Los Angeles on July 5, 1945.
Some art sources list the artist's middle name incorrectly as F. His actual name was Edgar Cooke Faris. (correction provided by the artist's granddaughter Lisa Dantos).
