This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born on March 1, 1867 in Atchinson, KS.  Daisy Challiss attended the PAFA and School of Design for Women in Philadelphia.  She wed Harry Faust in 1889 but was soon widowed.  She then became a chiropractor but continued painting in her leisure.  Primarily a portraitist, she also painted landscapes and coastals.  She lived in Los Angeles from the early 1920s until the 1930s.  Mrs. Faust died in New York in 1965.

Born in Atchinson, Kansas, Eleanor Faust was a painter primarily known for portraits, but she also painted landscape and coastal scenes. She attended the School of Design for Women in Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. In the 1920s, she moved to California, settling in Inglewood. She was a member of the Los Angeles Art League.
