| Elizabeth Merrill Ford was born in Illinois on Feb. 19, 1902. Elizabeth Merrill was educated at DePaul University and further studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. She was the wife of Donald Ford until his death in 1934. She taught art in the public schools of Chicago until the outbreak of World War Two.
After arriving in Santa Barbara in 1943, she taught art there for many years. She was the wife of Charles Cobb at the time of her demise in Los Angeles on Dec. 4, 1977.
Exh: Art Institute of Chicago, 1924. Murals: Mount Vernon Elementary School, Vanderpoel School, Fort Dearborn Elementary School, and Superior Tea Room (all in Chicago).
