Born in 1942 on a farm in Duboise Crossroads, South Carolina, Ernest Frazier was moved to Harlem in New York City as an infant. He took art training in the 1960s at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
In 1972, Frazier was part of two exhibitions at the Whitney Museum: "Contemporary Black Artists in America" and "Contemporary American Paintings". He was also part of the Whitney Biennials in 1973 and 1974.
In 1973 Frazier purchased and restored an abandoned, red brick foundr (showing 500 of 760 characters). |
