| | Born in Dresden, Germany in 1852. Flohr was educated in Dresden and in 1873 sailed to New York. Two years later he settled in San Francisco where he studied at the School of Design. After establishing a studio, he did many portrait busts and municipal commissions including the fountain in Blair Park in Piedmont, the Winn monument in Sacramento, and for the Native Sons of the Golden West. During the 1880s he also resided in Sacramento and was active in California until the turn of the century. He may have returned to Germany at that time. Exh: Mechanics' Inst. (SF), 1879-97; Calif.
