| A painter of still lifes, florals, landscapes and interiors, Gay Faulkenberry does much of her painting en plein air, which requires her to travel to locations where the air is clear and light and "is almost a tangible part of the scenery." She was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma but through childhood travels, had early exposure to Taos, New Mexico near where her grandparents owned a lodge. There the special light left a strong impression on her, but it was the presence of human beings in landscape (showing 500 of 880 characters). |
