| Born in Los Angeles, CA on July 6, 1900. Flower grew up in southern California. In 1920 he sailed for Europe to study art in Paris at Académie Julian and Ecole des Beaux Arts and in Rome at the Beaux Arts Academy. After five years in Europe, he returned to his native city and established a studio-home in the Arroyo Seco. He taught at the Los Angeles Art Institute in 1928 and operated his own art school in Pasadena in 1937. For awhile he shared a studio with Nicolai Fechin and studied priv (showing 500 of 1005 characters). |
